Skin Prick Test
Skin prick testing is an accurate tool for diagnosing a food allergy. During the test, various allergens are placed on the forearm and back by our Allergist. The skin is then pricked and the patient is observed for food allergy symptoms, such as a raised red bump. Skin prick testing is the most common type of food allergy test as it provides accurate results for many allergens in as little as 15–30 minutes.. If you experience symptoms after eating peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, eggs or other foods, visiting our allergist for a consultation will be beneficial.
